About Vincere-Huguenot

The Vincere-Huguenot is an ideal setting for a residential rehabilitation treatment centre, isolated from residential and commercial distractions, our location allows guests to come to an area rich in natural beauty creating a healthy and therapeutic atmosphere. It provides both a nurturing environment and strict routine, with adequate boundaries for successful recovery.

The Vincere-Huguenot is a place of safety and healing, providing a discreet and non-judgmental environment, free of the stresses that contribute to addictive behaviours.

The programme of recovery at The Vincere-Huguenot is individually designed for people seeking help with drug and alcohol dependency, other addiction problems and depression.

The philosophy of The Vincere-Huguenot regarding addiction is that it is a treatable condition and is the manifestation of a chronic neurobiological disease.

Treatment programmes at The Vincere-Huguenot are based on a multi model approach, including the twelve step system (specific to addiction) supported by elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, narrative therapy and positive psychology. Intervention strategies include group and individual counselling, educational / informative lectures, CBT and 12 step based work sheets and educational DVD’s. At The Vincere-Huguenot we also focus on the underlying causes of the addiction or depression, with personalised assessments and an individually tailored care plan formulated by our counselling psychologist. A medically managed detoxification programme is available under the medical supervision of Plettenberg Bay MediClinic Hospital, or our consulting medical professional  for those clients who need it.

An aftercare program is formulated for all clients before they leave, with appropriate referrals in place for a successful transitoir.
